Pizza & Politics: Urge the Governor to Veto HB 1264

After, Governor Sununu asked the New Hampshire Supreme Court for an advisory opinion on the voter restriction bill HB 1264 he said it would be “hard not to sign” if the Supreme Court said it was constitutional. HB 1264 is Republicans’ last ditch effort to pass voter restriction legislation this session.

Join us to urge Governor Sununu veto this restrictive and undemocratic bill tomorrow!

The phone bank will take place on Tuesday5pm-7pm, at 8 Carpenter St in Manchester. Please bring your own laptop and headphones.

Sununu Signing Update

Keep an eye on this section in the coming months as we update you on the bills Sununu either signs or vetoes.
HB 1264, the Voter Restriction Bill

This week, the New Hampshire Supreme Court will continue to seek opinions regarding the voter restriction bill, HB 1264. Despite saying he “hates” this legislation, Sununu hinted he’ll reverse his decision if the Supreme Court declares it constitutional, saying “it would be hard not to sign.”

ACTION: We must keep the pressure up on Sununu so if you can’t attend Tuesday’s phonebank, call Sununu (603) 271-2121 and tell him to veto this bill, regardless of the Court’s decision.

Supporter Housing

The NHDP is gearing up for our 2018 Coordinated Campaign! We are bringing on staff and volunteers to support our Town and County committees to turn out the vote in November. We need your help finding places for them to stay. Whether it is for a week or through election day – any little bit helps. Please fill out THIS FORM if you are able to house a volunteer or staff member.

Sununu Reality Check

Last week, the New Hampshire Legislature wrapped up their session by voting on a number of bills that went through the committee of conference process. One of those bills was the 10-year transportation plan, to which Governor Sununu asked the legislature to put a commuter rail study, only to demand it be removed a week later when he learned that New Hampshire didn’t have a shot at Amazon’s second headquarters.

Since Chris Sununu refuses to count himself among the 75% of Granite Staters, including 70% of Republicans, who support extending commuter rail service, it’s clear that we will need to elect a new governor if we want to see progress in the state of New Hampshire.

Follow Sununu Reality Check on TwitterFacebook, and check out our website (SununuRealityCheck.com) to get updates on how we’re holding Sununu accountable.
